George Kobayashi

George Kobayashi, 80, of Homosassa, FL., passed away suddenly on Sat., Nov. 24, 2018 at Bayfront Medical Center in Hudson, FL. A native of Portland, OR., he was born Feb. 22, 1938 to Minoru and Kiyo (Mio) Kobayashi, one of five children. Mr. Kobayashi earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. George was a gifted vegetable farmer for many years of his working life, but retired from Campbell Soups as a Field Manager in their Vlasic Division in Saginaw, Michigan in 1993. He moved to Homosassa sixteen years ago from Chesaning, MI, where he had lived for more than three decades. He was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and baseball and in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sue Kobayashi, and a grandson, Evan Kobayashi. George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol M. Kobayashi, Homosassa, FL; his four children Mark Kobayashi (wife Billie), Lompac, CA; Todd Kobayashi (wife Lisa), Kansas City, MO; Timm Kobayashi (wife Sherrie), Grandville, MI and Toshi Kobayashi (wife Kelli), Cedar Springs, MI; siblings Kenneth Kobayashi (wife Roberta), Kalamazoo, MI; Joan Kobayashi. Homosassa; twin brothers Albert Kobayashi (wife Diane) of Mason, MI and Robert Kobayashi, Novi, MI: grandchildren Noah, Kai, Quinn, Kate, Alyssa, Drew, Lauren, Mitchell, Nathan, Elise and Logan. A celebration of George’s life will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida with Rev. Chris Kirk of 1st United Methodist Church of Homosassa, officiating. Also, a subsequent celebration of George's life will take place on Sat.,Dec. 29, 2018 from Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, 13603 Northland Dr., Cedar Springs, Michigan 49319, with Fr.
