

Geraldine H. “Jerry” Stephens, 83, of Homosassa, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. A native and lifelong resident of Citrus County, she was born in Crystal River Aug. 24, 1930 to Theodore Ernest and Maude Dell (Ryals) Hay, one of two children. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed a long career in the Citrus County School system as a school bus driver and head custodian at Lecanto Primary, a position from which she was retired. Jerry, as she was known to many, was also a charter member of Women Of The Moose in Crystal River and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Inverness. She is survived by her son A.C. Stephens and his wife Anita, Crystal River; daughter Darlene Weick, Lecanto; grandchildren Ashley and Aaron; stepgrandchildren Anya, Shay and Kaj; great grandson Caleb and nine step great grandchildren. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clayton Stephens in 2006; brother Ted Hay and son-in-law Edward Weick.
