Gertrude E. "Gert" Ricci

Gertrude E. "Gert" Ricci, 63, of Homosassa, Florida passed away on Nov. 27, 2012 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, she was born June 14, 1949 to Wallace and Lillian (Stultz) Hanna, one of four children. Mrs. Ricci was the former owner and operator of Gertie's Hair Salon, a business she enjoyed in Cranston, Rhode Island for 18 years. Gert, as she was known to many, was also a foster parent for 22 years. From this heartfelt passion in the Ricci family, she adopted seven children. Mrs. Ricci moved to Homosassa in March of 2012 from Leesburg, Florida and was of the Episcopal faith. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas R. Ricci, Homosassa and eleven children; daughter Lorieann Bunker (Kevin W.), Homosassa; Michelle Grundy (Ben), Warwick, R.I.; Gina Larney (Scott), Hopkinton, R.I.; Thomas R. Ricci, Jr. (Kim Gufferson), Johnston, R.I.; Amanda, Lisa, Kayla, Georgianna, Jonathan and Calvin Ricci, all of Homosassa and James Ricci, Westerley, R.I.; brothers Walter Keller, Warwick, R.I. and Frank Bisch, Key West, FL; best friend Debbie Ferrara, Navarra Beach, FL; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, on Sat., Dec. 1, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. followed by a Funeral Service of Remembrance at 2:00 P.M. with Fr.
