In loving memory of Gordon Lee Morris, 67, of Homosassa, FL, who passed away on Tues., June 1, 2021 at his home. A native of Midland, MI, he was born Aug. 20, 1953 to Clair and Lola (King) Morris, one of three children. Gordie, as he was known to everyone, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Grand Valley State College in Allendale, MI, then served his country honorably in the United States Navy. As a young man of 35, he moved to Florida in 1988 from his native Michigan and enjoyed a 20 year career as an HVAC technician and installer with Currier Heating and Air Conditioning of Homosassa. Mr. Morris was also employed by Kane’s Ace Hardware in Homosassa. Gordie’s perfect day would revolve around spending time with his family; wearing one of his many beloved baseball caps and watching a Bucs or Rays game and then wrapping up the day with a Marvel superhero movie or watching late night talk shows featuring Jimmy Fallon, Steven Colbert or Jimmy Kimmel. Gordie was a member of Bushnell First Church of God and was a wonderful father, uncle, brother and friend. He will be forever missed by his family and friends, but this is not good-bye. In addition to his parents, Gordie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul F. Woitte in 1992. He is survived by a son, Zachary May, Homosassa, FL; sister Jan Woitte, Homosassa, FL; brother Michael Morris (wife Julie), Frankfort, MI; nephews Tim Morris (wife Callie), Cypress, TX and Sean Morris, M.D. (wife Rita), Cleveland, OH and nieces Emily May, Homosassa, FL and Molly Morris-Nguyen (husband Sang), Frankfort, MI. Friends will be received on Sat., June 12, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Randall Belcher officiating and Military Honors being rendered by American Legion Post #155 of Crystal River, FL.
