

Henry “Hank” T. Genzel, age 73, of Homosassa, FL passed away on December 24th, 2017 at his residence. Henry was born in Pittston, PA to the late Henry and Regina Genzel. He served our country in the United States Navy. During his civilian life, he became the Chief of Police for the Hillsborough Township Police Department in NJ. Henry was also a member of the Rotary Club of the Hillsborough Township and was the recipient of the Paul Harris award. He retired and moved to Homosassa, FL in 1996 after his 25 year tenure with the police force. Henry was a graduate of the National Academy of the FBI. He enjoyed golfing, working on cars and riding motorcycles. He will be greatly missed but remembered as being a personable man with a heart of gold. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Burnoski Genzel; second wife, Carolyn Todd Genzel; daughter, Kelly Lynn Genzel-Tritsos; brother, Charles Genzel. Survivors include his son, Jason Genzel of Sergeantsville, NJ; daughter, Jennifer Genzel of Brooksville, FL; granddaughters, Jenna Genzel and Alexa Tritsos; brother, Carl T. (Tina) Genzel of Homosassa, FL. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa, FL. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. and burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Memorial donations in Henry’s name may be made to Hospice of Citrus County.
