

James C. Kee, 79, of Lehigh Acres, FL, passed away Sat., May 10, 2014 at Cypress Cover Care Center in Crystal River. A native of Mount Holly, NJ, he was born March 17, 1935 to Thomas and Esther (Prevost) Kee, one of two children. James was a lifelong communications technician, beginning his career with Global Phone, Inc. in Chambersburg, PA. Upon his arrival in Florida 57 years ago, he established positions with Inter County Telephone and United Tel in Lee County. He then technically supported his family’s business, Robocom in Ft. Myers. Mr. Kee served his country in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957 as an Electronics Technician. He was of the Episcopal faith; loved fishing and was an avid Florida State University Seminole fan. James came to Citrus County on May 1, 2014 from Lehigh Acres. Mr. Kee is survived by his two children: son Thomas R. “Spanky” Kee, Lehigh Acres, FL and daughter Terry Hunter, Homosassa, FL; brother Barrie L. Kee (wife Nancy), Naples, FL and grandchildren James Richard Runyon, Steven Williams, Jr. and Jewell Elizabeth Williams as well as cousins Betty Boker and Marilyn, both of New Jersey. James was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Ann Kee, on Oct. 14, 2010; a daughter, Tamara Lynn Williams, on Feb. 2, 2011, a son-in-law, Jim Hunter, on Aug. 26, 2004, and Sonny Runyon, father of James Richard Runyon. A celebration of Mr. Kee’s life will be held on Sat., May 24, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida. His celebration will continue at Jim’s Club 19 in Homosassa.
