

Jean McKenzie Bryan, 85, of Inverness, FL, formally of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, entered into eternal rest February 21, 2016 at home with family by her side. Jean was the daughter of the late Winifred and James McKenzie, born in Worcester, MA, on March 11, 1930., but raised in Leicester, MA. She was married on April 29, 1950 to the late Barton F. Bryan. She was also predeceased by her sister Barbara Lefebvre and her brother James McKenzie.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bonnie Jeseo; her sons Bruce and wife Nancy, James and wife Dina, and George and wife Brenda; as well as 11 grandchildren,
8 great-grandchildren, and sister Carol Johnson and husband Warren.
Jean worked as a nurse’s aide in the maternity ward at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She also worked as a police dispatcher and matron for the City of Newburgh. Jean may best be remembered in Cornwall-on-Hudson for starting and owning the Storm King Country Store. For many years Jean was also a ham radio operator, working under her call signs K1NKS and WA2UZK.
In the later stages of raising her loving family, Jean found the time for others, belonging to the Storm King Fire Engine Co. #2 Auxiliary. After moving to Florida, she was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-4 of Homosassa.
Jean’s greatest joy was her family and her pets. Nothing gave her more happiness than being around those she loved. Her heart and home were also always open to her many rescued dogs and cats.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 from 1:00 t 2:00 P.M., at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a chapel service will take place at 2:00 P.M. with Nan Riddle officiating. Entombment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. www.wilderfuneral.com .
