
Jeanette M. Bauer, 87, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Rose Manor Assisted Living in Spring Hill, FL. A native of the Bronx (NY), she was born July 21, 1929 to Nicholas and Nellie (Scauzillo) Constantino, the oldest of four children. Jeanette graduated from Walton High School in 1947 and was employed as a secretary for Guardian Life Insurance Company (NY), serving for 20 years. Upon her marriage (in May of 1967) to her beloved husband, the late Eugen F. Bauer, who passed away on Sept. 30, 2013, she moved briefly to Allentown, PA and then began a life with her husband that was filled with travel due to his job. Places she got to visit included Europe, Turkey, Israel, South America, and Hawaii. Places she lived in included Hyannis (Cape Cod), MA; Mentor, OH; Birmingham, MI; Ogden, UT and Cape Coral, FL before moving to Homosassa over 23 years ago. Jeannette was known endearingly as Jean, Auntie Jean, Mom, and even Oma. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who started each day with her beloved crossword puzzle and a cup of coffee. She was a proud homemaker and loved cooking, walking, swimming, knitting, bowling, sewing, photography and even line dancing. She studied German in her forties, in order to be able to converse with her husband’s family on their trips to Germany. Jeanette will be remembered for her genuine goodness and love of her family. Forever a Perry Como fan, his was one of the last voices she heard while her family sat with her. Jeanette is survived by her stepdaughters Angelika Macri (husband Steve), of Spring Hill, FL and Patricia Smith (husband David), of Painesville, OH; granddaughter Christina Macri, of Spring Hill, FL, and sister Anne Stufano (husband Nic) of Hillsborough, NJ, plus numerous nieces, nephews and grand- nieces/nephews. In addition to her husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by sisters Mary Arnone and Dolores Acquaviva. Burial and services will be held at the “Queen of Peace Chapel”, in the “Gate of Heaven Cemetery”, Hawthorne, NY on Wednesday, April 19, at 10AM .
