I met Jeff in first grade, in Mrs. Comets class for "early" kids. Kids who were five years old entering that grade.We were having a spelling test, and the word was "right." I wrote down "rite." I heard, "psssst." I looked over, and there was little Jeff holding up a ruler, the kind that slid onto a box that would hold your extra pencils and erasers, and printed on it was the advertisement "Wright Tool and Die," the place his Mother Barb worked as a secretary. I looked him in the eyes, and slowly shook my head back and forth in a "no" motion. He slowly shook his head in a "yes" motion. Mrs. Comet came over and said, "You boys can't be talking during the test." We both smugly wrote down our wrong answers, only to be humbled by the returned tests later with matching "incorrect" marks. That was the first laugh we shared. Years later, we were both brisking into the IMA Sports Arena, hockey bags and sticks in hand, coifed hair flowing in the breeze we created as we rushed across the huge terrazzo lobby, barely on time for our hockey game. We had been out purchasing new foot wear called "platform shoes." Much taller, we clippitty-clopped our way to the stairwell, burst through the steel doors, and fell, clumsily, down the whole flight of steel-tipped steps. Laying in a crumple at the bottom, I heard that slow, familiar laugh coming from Jeff. Slap-stick at it's realist. I caught on, and started to roar. We picked ourselves up, and dragged into the locker room, where some one made the comment that we looked like we just played a game...............We shared a lot over the years..I shall miss him.......

My deepest sympathy on his passing.  I played high school sports against Jeff and after graduation played together in recreational leagues.  It was then that we became friends.  As our lives moved on, we lost track of each other as often happens.  He was a great guy, and I was honored to call him my teammate.  Peace be with you all.

Jeff was a great artist and friend. SanderSon Bay would not have the web presence without his diligence and supurb talent. It was Jeff Tanner that launched our website and put us on the map ! He will be greatly missed here! To all Jeff's friends and family, may God be with you these days and know that Jeff made his mark while here in this world and is with his maker with a new body. I knew Jeff on a professional level having worked with him on dozens of websites which my company created for our clients.  He was more than a vendor to me, I considered him a friend.  We kept in touch when he moved to Michigan and we continued to work together on some projects even after he announced this medical situation.  We were planning to get together after his return to Homosassa.  I had planned to call him this week.  I will miss him and offer his wife Kim and their children my heartfelt sympathy.
