Jesse L. Allender, Jr., of Homosassa, FL, passed away peacefully at home with his daughters at his side, under the care of Hospice of Citrus County on March 22, 2013. Born in Anderson, Indiana, he was 88 years old and was the son of Jesse L. Sr. and Ota Allender. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a master carpenter all of his life, building everything from cabinets to homes. He moved to Homosassa Springs in 1972. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Doris Allender, his son Michael Allender and grandson Jesse L. Allender IV. Jesse is survived by his daughters; Judy (Ben) Davidson, Anderson, IN and Betty (Mark) Allender-Linseman, Homosassa, FL; son Jesse L. “Red” Allender III, Louisiana; grandchildren Scott (Angie) Davidson and Amber (Bob) Peck, both of Indiana; great grandchildren Tyler, Emily and Brian and numerous nieces and nephews. Jesse’s family will receive friends at Fountains Memorial Park Chapel beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Fri., March 29th with a celebration of life service beginning at 3:00 P.M.
