John Ovil Cole

John O. Cole, 87 of Lecanto, FL died Mon., April 25, 2011 at Hospice House of Citrus County. Born Sept. 28, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH and moved to Lecanto 28 years ago from St Petersburg. John was a retired Office Service Mailroom Supervisor with the St Petersburg Times with 27 years of service. He attended St Petersburg High School and graduated from Ft. Mead High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. He was preceded in death by his son Jim Cole.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years Jeanette Cole of Lecanto; son John W. Cole of St Petersburg; daughter Betty Page of St Petersburg; 1 granddaughter; 1 great-grandson and 2 nieces. Funeral services will be held 11 a. m., Fri., April 29 at the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa with Rev. Mark Whittaker officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery. Friends will be received Fri. from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Donations in memory of John may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa or the Methodist Children Home.
