

John F. (Jack) Rutledge passed away in Homosassa, Florida on November 23, 2011. He was born on August 7, 1935 in Meriden, Connecticut. He was a self-educated engineer, with the majority of his working career spent at Airpax, a division of North America Philips Corp. He instituted and managed many off-shore manufacturing projects for Airpax, including Matamoros, Mexico; the Dominican Republic, Singapore, Japan, and Belgium, including Brussels. He also held several patents on electrical switching devices and fractional horsepower motors. Jack was an avid drummer, playing with several local groups, as well as Colonial Drum Corps. He was also a circus historian, fan, and model builder whose models have been on display at various Connecticut and Florida locations. He leaves his wife Lorraine (Noel) Rutledge of Homosassa, Florida; his daughters Kelly Jean Rutledge of Durham, Connecticut and Laurie Ann Harriman and her husband Glenn of Arlington, Massachusetts. He also leaves a sister, Terrianne Grimaldi of Meriden, Connecticuyt. He was predeceased by his parents, John Patrick Rutledge and Rosemary (Galucci) Rutledge and a brother, Raymond Rutledge. A memorial service will be held at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs, FL on Fri., December 9th at 2:00 P.M. with Fr. Ronald Marecki officiating. A memorial mass will be said at Jack’s parish, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL at a later date.
