

Joseph Bruce Prine, beloved son and brother, was born November 11th, 1971 in Auburn, Indiana and departed this life at his home in Sugar Mill Woods Homosassa, Florida on March 23rd, 2024, suddenly and peacefully in his sleep. Joe was the son of Georgia (Prine) Bradford and the late Robert Prine, Jr. He was one of four children, with three sisters, Laura (Detar) Prine, Penelope (Prine) Brooks and Jodi (Prine) Thompson.
Joe graduated from Bronson High School, class of 1990. He then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University in 2006 as well as his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University in 2006. He loved learning with a passion for History and Finance.
He had a brief career as a stock broker and decided that stress was not for him and enjoyed a career as a personal banker before leaving that field and turning to Sales Associate for AT&T in Angola, Indiana and then Charter Communications/Spectrum in Florida. He transferred and was working for Spectrum, Inverness while building his new home in Homosassa, FL.
Joe loved Florida! He left Indiana and the North behind building homes in Tarpon Springs, Lakeland and finally in Homosassa –Sugar Mill Woods to be near his mother and sister after falling in love with the Nature Coast. He loved walking the trails in Withlacoochee Forest, Biking and the dining at local Homosassa River outdoor restaurants. He also loved singing and Karaoke on the beach in Clearwater. He loved Football and watched all games. The family was a “football widow” during football season, but we knew he enjoyed it. He played football at Bronson High School and later Rugby in college at Central Michigan University. He loved family games of all sorts and game days would not be complete without Monopoly with Laura. He loved collecting Star Wars, Monopoly and Chicago Bears memorabilia. He enjoyed roaming with his Jeep Gladiator “Tilray”.
Joe loved the USA and was a patriot. He respected and admired all of his family who served in the Armed Forces and regretted not joining the Marine Corp prior to college.
Joe was a devoted son to his mother and sister Laura with whom they shared a deep bond and friendship. He spoiled his family and himself. He was very intelligent, funny and witty. Joe was a born again Christian and loved biblical learning from Dr. Thomas Clothier, his mentor and pastor at First Christian Church, Kendallville, Indiana before moving to Florida.
Joseph was preceded in death by his adopted father, Robert Prine Jr., Grandparents Robert Prine Sr. and Betty Prine of Delphos, Ohio and Grandparents Chester Brown and Beatrice Brown of Bronson, Michigan and his beloved Aunt Sandra Johns of Orland, In and Homosassa and one uncle, Michael Green of Fremont, IN. Joseph had no children. Joseph is survived by his mother and stepfather, Georgia and R. Nelson Bradford of Homosassa, sisters Laura Prine (Gary) of Homosassa, Penelope Brooks (Michael) of MI and Jodi Thompson (Rob) of OH, cousins, aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. Joe will also be missed by friends, neighbors and Spectrum team-mates.
A Celebration of his life will be held at First Baptist Church of Crystal River, FL on Friday, April 26th at 11:00am. There is also planned a Celebration of Life at Pokagon State Park, Angola Indiana, Apple Orchard Pavillion on May 25th from 1pm to 5pm. His family will be honoring his request to scatter his ashes at locations he chose as precious memories in his life.
