Joy Michalski, 88, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Wed., Sept. 20, 2023 at her home. A native of Garwood, NJ, she was born May 8, 1935 to Frank and Josephine (Paumi) Grasso, one of three children. Joy graduated from cosmetology school which led to her first career as a hairdresser, but her greatest passion in life was cooking. Joy was a self taught, gifted and talented chef and over the years became an executive chef for several employers in the Pleasanton, CA area. In 1995, Joy moved to Florida from Pleasanton, and was a faithful and devoted member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Michalski, on Aug. 6, 2018, and her sisters Anna Palazzi in 2022 and Jennie Moran in 2017. Joy is survived by her children Victoria Michalski of Homosassa and Christopher Michalski (wife Bobbi) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Kristie Winchester (husband James) of Phoenix, AZ and Christopher Bissell (wife Courtney) of Austin, TX; great grandchildren Eden and Ivy Winchester of Phoenix, AZ and brothers-in-law Joseph Palazzi of New Jersey and Larry Michalski of Pennsylvania. A Memorial Service will be held on Mon., Nov. 13, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church with Pastor Brandon Lauranzon officiating.
