Lilla Frances Barber, 87, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Fri., June 24, 2022 at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, FL. A native of Red Level, FL and a lifelong Citrus County resident, Frances was born Feb. 17, 1935 to David Marion and Fannie Leona (Martin) Hixon, one of seven children. One day Frances (as she was known to many), recognized a need for a public transit system; began the Citrus County Transit System and drove their transit bus for 21 years. Mrs. Barber was a member of Gulf To Lake Church and Women Of The Moose, both of Crystal River. Frances’ perfect day would involve being surrounded by her family and sewing, knitting, or crocheting. She was known as a fine quilt maker. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by two husbands ; George Arthur Beville and Raymond C. Barber; brothers Carl, Leon, Harvey, Norris and Bob and a grandson Ernie. She is survived by son Ernest Newton Ryals And his wife Kim of Beverly Hills, FL; son Ray Beville and his wife Karen of Lecanto; daughter Nancy Carol Bertoli and her husband Ed of Homosassa and son David Arnold Beville and his wife Rebecca of Thayer, MO: brother Frank Hixon and his wife Maryann of Inverness, FL; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren with one more on the way. Friends will be receive at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa on Thursday, June 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where a funeral service will take place on Fri., July 1st at 1:30 PM with Rev.
