

Louise Sheets, also know to many as “Mema”, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the age of 105. Louise was born on July 18, 1917 in Limestone, TN, one of four children to Clyde and Maude Keebler. She moved to Citrus County in the late 1960’s from Dunedin, FL, where she had lived since the late 1940’s. In addition to being a lifelong homemaker, Louise was also a former sales associate at the former Horn’s Jewelry in Crystal River and was a founding member of the former First Baptist Church of Homosassa Springs. Louise was very involved in the church’s activities and loved teaching Sunday School at her church. Her passions in life were sewing, canning, cooking, gardening and crafting and Mrs. Sheets was famous for her buttermilk pies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene D. Sheets, Sr. on April 22, 1989; children Jimmy K. Sheets, William Sheets and Eugene Sheets, Jr.; a son-in-law Richard Brendle, as well as her three brothers, Harry, John Julian, and Joe Keebler. Louise is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Brendle of Tampa, FL. Mema will be remembered as a loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, as well as a cherished aunt. Friends will be received on Fri., July 29, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM.
