

Margaret Inez Swearingen, 85, of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Bayfront Health, Port Charlotte, FL. A native of Oxford, FL, she was born December 5, 1930 to Hardy H. and Myrtle May (Waldron) Stafford, one of seven children. Inez, as she was known to many, was a lifelong loving homemaker who also helped to support her family during the 1960’s as a domestic maid at the Port Paradise Resort in Crystal River, FL. She moved to Charlotte County 20 years ago from Homosassa, shortly after the passing of her loving husband Louie Eugene Swearingen. Mrs. Swearingen was a member of Jesus Christ Apostolic Ministries and is survived by son Rocky Swearingen (wife Faith), Clearwater, FL; daughter Sharelon Nichols (husband William), Punta Gorda, FL; sisters Maxine Goodman, Homosassa Springs, FL and Patricia Ann Young, Inglis, FL; 4 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her late husband Louie, she was also preceded in death by siblings Jerdon “Jerry” Stafford, Kenneth Stafford, Evona Trotter and Iona Stephens. Friends will be received on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ of Old Homosassa from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M., where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. with Evangelist Randy Nichols and Pastor Mike Nichols officiating.
