Mark was born in New York and moved to Florida with his family in 1987, to give his family the best life possible. His family was his everything. He opened a business, and through hard work, made the American dream a reality. His pride and integrity showed in all he did, teaching everyone that knew him that giving 110% was the only way- in anything you ever did. He always stood for what was right, and was never afraid to stand up or even alone to defend what he believed in. He was a true man and taught not only his children, but also, friends and many people who worked for him through the years, what the meaning of a true man was, that family always comes first, and through hard work you can achieve anything.
Mark was a very unique man, with a character that set him apart from everyone else. In a day and age when the old school way of “your word is your bond” is so much forgotten, Mark never did. He had the ability to do this all, why maintaining a fun loving, goofy, kid like persona. As a father and Opa to not only to his children, but all children he met, he was able to play and laugh and take the time for all of them, believing in the saying that “It takes a village to raise a child” and always reminding them “not to take any wooden nickels”.
Mark has now joined the angels of the loved ones he’s lost, including his mother and father, Mary and Charles Hanisch, and his daughter, Paige Hanisch. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Hanisch, his daughters, Melissa Olbek and son-in-law Gerard Olbek and Kristin Beaver and son-in-law Ryan Beaver, grandchildren, Christian, Gabe, Kayci, Kaitlynn, Chance and Aaliyah, and an abundance of friends and extended family.
Mark’s services will be held at Wilder’s Funeral Home, in Homosassa. There will be two viewings on Thursday, May 19th, 2-4pm and 6-8 pm. The funeral services will be held Friday, May 20th at 11am, followed by a graveside service at Fountains Memorial Park, where he will be laid to finally rest. All of his friends are welcome with open arms to attend. All are welcome to come back to their home after the services.
In lieu of flowers, Mark and family would like to request donations be made to All Children’s Hospital, in honor of his daughter, Paige Hanisch, who he was dedicating a room in her memory. Condolences may be offered at www.wilderfuneral.com.
