Marshall Lee Young

Marshall Lee Young, Sr., 73, of Homosassa, FL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. Born September 22, 1937 in Levy County, Marshall was a lifelong resident of Homosassa. He is survived by his wife of 52 years D. Aileen Head Young. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Marshall worked 50 years in the seafood business in Citrus County. He owned “live shrimp” boats and owned Homosassa Seafood in partnership with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alton “Dunk” and Judy Pierce.

He served on the deacon board for 25 years at Christian Center Church, was ordained in 1987 and was a member of the International Ministerial Association, also the United Christian Church Ministerial Association. He served two congregations as pastor, the Rock Church in Inglis and Faith Worship Center in Homosassa.

Marshall has three sons, Marshall Jr. “Marty” with wife Leah lives in Homosassa Springs and has two daughters Stephanie and Ashley. Michael W. with wife Janel lives in Lakeland and has three children, Victoria, Benjamin and Nicholas, John Marcus lives in Homosassa Springs and has three children, Renee, John Jr. and Jared. Two great-granddaughters, Rileigh Ann Damewood and Alyvia Faith Bojalad; a great-grandson, Gage Damewood; two brothers Luther Young and Lester Young of Yankeetown; four sisters, Melvena Stephens, Hollie Young, Alice Priest of Yankeetown and Mary Head of Homosassa Springs.

He was the son of the late John H. Young and Ada Young of Yankeetown. Preceded in death by two brothers Charles Nichols and J. W. Young; two sisters Lucille Spradley and Thelma Oliver.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Christian Center Church. The family will receive friends for viewing from 9:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Marcus Rooks officiating. Interment will follow in Stage Stand Cemetery.
