Patricia S. “Pat” Lawrence, 79, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL. Pat was born in Ripley County, MO, on Oct. 24, 1941 to the late Samuel and Nina (Franklin) Grimmett and was one of five children. In 2004, Pat retired from Alstom Power as their office manager and moved to Homosassa from Lenexa, KS.
Pat loved living the “Florida lifestyle” and embraced her new home and all things Florida. She enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards and dominoes, shopping with her friends and daughter, swimming in her pool, walking the beach, traveling, hosting parties and holidays for her friends and family and having an afternoon “tink.” Most afternoons you could catch her saying “Cheers” to another great day with a glass of chardonnay.
She loved the color red, her family, and would often remind Jill and Andy that they were very “precious’ to her. Pat considered herself lucky to have found two wonderful men to marry in her life. Pat’s positive outlook on life and her beautiful smile will be remembered by those that knew and loved her. The hole she has left in the hearts’ of her circle of friends and our family will forever be felt; however, we know that she is whole and healthy in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Pat was a faithful and devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa and she was preceded in death by her two husbands; Aubrey E. “Sonny” Rawlings (Jan. 18, 1990) and Harley E. Lawrence (Jan 31, 2021), as well as her two brothers Donald and Jim Grimmett. Pat is survived by her children Jill Rawlings, Hudson, FL and Andy Rawlings (wife Cherie), Lenexa, KS; stepchildren Zachary Lawrence (wife Michiko), Bristow, VA and Cassie Franco (husband Antonio), Las Vegas, NV; sisters Georgia Lafferty (husband Bill), Crystal River, FL and Marilyn Shane (husband Carl),St. Peters, MO; granddaughter Aubrey Rawlings, Lenexa, KS and stepgrandchildren Ryder, Aylin and Indio Franco, all of Las Vegas, NV, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cat, Annabelle.
