Pearl Revanna Langley Maynard was born in Lecanto, Florida, September 19, 1933, to William Theo Langley and Annie Harriett Hardin Langley. Pearl graduated from Crystal River High School in 1951 and was very active in academic and social activities. Upon graduation, she worked for the Wynns at their pharmacy in Crystal River. On August 31st, 1956, she married Harry F. Maynard, Sr., of Lecanto. Together they had five children: Wanda Maynard Law (Jeffery); H. Frederick Maynard, Sr. (Cathy); Dale Michael Maynard (Patricia, deceased); Laura Maynard Carter; and Brenda Maynard McKenzie (deceased). The two had been married for 68 years.
Pearl served as the Postmistress for the Lecanto Post Office when it was located on Highway 44 and later became the Citrus County Canning Plant Manager. She was an active member of the Lecanto Church of Christ.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents Theo and Annie, her two sisters Inez Langley Riggs and Gladys Langley Perryman, and her three brothers, Wade, Wilbur and Milton Langley. She leaves behind her husband, Harry, four children, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Pearl will be remembered for her wholesome smile, her unrestrained laughter, her sacrifice of self for others, and her sincere love for her family and friends.
A service will be held at the graveside at the Magnolia Cemetery in Lecanto, Florida, Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
