Ray Allen Krasley, age 100, died 3/13/22 at home in Oxford, FL. He was born to Harold and Marion Krasley on 11/6/1921 in Royersford, PA as one of eight siblings. He served in the US Army as a medic and driver, receiving a good conduct medal, a WWII Victory Medal, and a European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars and 1 bronze arrowhead.
Ray worked as a pipe fitter, and was a proud member of the Steamfitters Local 420 Union for 70 years.
After leaving Pennsylvania, he and his wife Martha lived for many years in Homosassa Springs, FL. They moved to The Villages in 2002. Ray took great pride in his yard and worked tirelessly outdoors, well into his 90s. He moved to the Carriage House in Oxford after his wife’s passing in 2016.
Ray enjoyed traveling during his retirement and golfing at the many courses in The Villages. He also enjoyed playing in a Wii Bowling League at the Carriage House. He was very proud of his car and his ability to drive, even after he turned 100. He loved dogs, especially boxers, and fondly remembered a favorite dog named Brandy.
Ray was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Martha Krasley, and his siblings Harold, Betty, Edith, Phyllis, Paul, and Marion.
He is survived by his sister Nancy Sheppard, his niece Donna Krasley, his great niece Stephanie Spier, his great-great niece and nephew Ellie and Matthew Spier, his nephew Larry Krasley, his niece Sandra, and many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend Norma Affolder and his friends and former neighbors Joe and Betty Raj. He will be dearly missed.
