

Raymond Franklin Huffman, 83, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. A native of Charleston, W.Va., he was born January 11, 1943 to Raymond Austin and Opal Faye (McKinney) Huffman, one of thirteen children. Raymond was a retired truck driver and moved here over nine years ago from the Tampa area. As a Roman Catholic by faith, he was a faithful and devoted parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, where he was a member of Respect Life Ministry, as well as a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 15154. Raymond was also a longtime member of B.P.O.E Elks Lodge # 708 in Tampa and a former volunteer firefighter in North Carolina earlier in life. Mr. Huffman loved horses and was an avid hunter and fisherman; he was an outdoorsman in every sense. Raymond’s perfect day would begin with feeding his chickens and ducks. He loved planting fruit trees and flowers and working with his tractor. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family and as a very social man, he loved going out to breakfast every morning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven siblings. In addition to his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara Huffman, he is survived two daughters, two grandsons, one step grandson, seven step great grandchildren, and a sister who lives in Tampa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, with Fr. J. Glenn Diaz, Celebrant. Catholic Rite of Committal will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills, Florida at 11:45 AM with Deacon Mark Manko officiating. Services entrusted to Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida.
