Richard A. Keen, 76, of Homosassa, passed away on Mon., March 31, 2014 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. A native of Portsmouth, NH, he was born Feb. 23, 1938 the son of Allen and Imogene Keen, one of four children. Mr. Keen earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Hampshire and was a retired internal auditor with 25 years of service for the Internal Revenue Service, serving in the Boston and New York offices. He moved to Sugarmill Woods in 1987 from Tampa and loved to spend time gardening. Richard was a parishioner of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Loretta M. Keen of Homosassa; son Jay Keen (wife Woodine) of Homosassa; son Briant Keen (wife Elizabeth) of Tampa; sisters Edith Trimble of New Port Richey and Barbara Emerson of Dover, NH and granddaughters Hailey and Carissa Keen of Tampa. Mr. Keen was preceded in death by an infant brother, Paul Keen. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., April 12th at 10:00 A.M. from St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Marecki, Celebrant. Interment will be private. No flowers please, in respect of the Lenten season, but please make memorial contributions in Richard’s name to the charity of your choice.
