

Samuel Joe Klemann, 66, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. A native of Salem, Ohio, he was born June 6, 1958 to Jacob and Susan (Usame) Klemann, one of six children. Sam, as he was known to many, was a retired dragline and heavy equipment operator in the rock mining industry, a career that spanned 35 years. Mr. Klemann began his career as a teenager with Buckeye Coal Mining in Ohio; then worked for Cemex, Inc. in Inglis, FL for 19 years; KP’s Heavy Equipment in Cayman Islands from 2010 to 2015; then ending his career with retirement from Scotts Equipment in Cayman Islands in 2021. Sam moved to Homosassa permanently from Cayman Islands upon retirement. Sam was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Cayman Islands Baptist Church in Savannah. He enjoyed building model planes and was a member of the R/C Airplane Club. Sam also loved building model ships, including miniature replicas of the the Bismark, the USS Constitution, the USS Missouri, and his final creation, the USS Iowa. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his siblings Sandy Klemann and Judy Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Karen T. “Tena” Klemann of Homosassa; daughters Jessica (Raymond) Little, Ocala Florida and Stephanie (Joe) Mikell, Summerfield Florida; stepson Brad Ebanks, Grand Cayman; stepdaughter Brytanni Lawrence and stepson Brandon Lawrence, both of Homosassa, FL; grandchildren RJ, Ryon (Jenny), Rayna, Rayanne, and Ryder Little, all of Ocala, FL.; Nathan (Brooke) Mikel and Halie (Michael) Miller, both of Summerfield Florida, and great grandchildren Anniston, Sage and Jameson Mikell, all of Summerfield Florida.
