

Shade Warren Simpkins, 99, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away on Sat., Feb. 6, 2021 at his home. A native of Hode, KY, he was born April 25, 1921 to William and Laura (Mullet) Simpkins, one of eight children. Shade served his country honorably and proudly in WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps and enjoyed a long 26 year career with Chrysler Corp. in Sterling Heights, Michigan as a millwright. Mr. Simpkins moved to Beverly Hills in 1993 from West Virginia and was a former faithful and devoted member of Lecanto Church of Christ, as well as a Lifetime Member of the Masons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Martha E. Simpkins, on Oct. 31, 2013; son Dalvis Simpkins and his seven siblings: John, Luke, James, Arthur, Elijah, Edith and Vade. He is survived by his children Danny Simpkins (wife Sandra, Beverly Hills, FL; Karen Riley (husband Clifford), Proctorville, OH and Dale Simpkins, Beverly Hills, FL: grandchildren Tami and Scott Simpkins and Connie Booth (husband Adrian); great grandchildren Felicia (husband Brian), Meredith, Melissa, Alfred "A.J.", Daniel and Dominique, as well as great great grandchildren Ellen Jane and Madison. Friends will be received on Fri., Feb. 12, 2021 from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a service of remembrance will take place at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor John Arnold officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Lecanto, Florida, with American Legion Post #155 of Crystal River, Florida rendering honors.
