Teri was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Bert Truxell and Dolly Truxell. She spent most of her youth and adult years in Northern Virginia, where she built a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections.
Teri dedicated much of her career to serving others as a church planter and insurance administrator. She was a faithful volunteer and active member of her church community, with a gift for making people feel welcome, always greeting others with a warm smile and a heart ready to help.
A creative spirit, Teri loved playing guitar, singing, and writing. She treasured time with friends and family, sharing stories, and filling every room with laughter. One of her favorite sayings, “I love you more than my luggage,” perfectly captured her mix of humor and deep love for those around her.
Teri is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Gray Stephenson; her children Sarah Morris, Greg Morris (Heather), Mitchell Bentley (Abby), Jessica Stephenson, Lauren David (Trey), Melissa Stephenson, and Caroline Waddell (Frank). She was a proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Mila, Greer, Beckham, Liam, Alexis, Kennedy, and Garrett. She is also survived by her devoted father, Bert Truxell, and her loving siblings Ann Truxell (Bob), Mary Wilson (Mark), Ellen Truxell (Dexter), and Rob Truxell (Kimberly).
A celebration of life will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church (14851 Gideon Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22192) at 1pm on Monday October 13, 2025, with a reception to follow on-site.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to All Saints’ Church
Teri will be remembered for her boundless kindness, unwavering faith, and the way she made every person she met feel loved.
