Ula V. Narain, 85, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tues., Jan. 22, 2019 at her home. A native of Georgetown, Guyana, she was born Jan. 10, 1934 to Abraham and Ivy (Gownder) Wong, one of four children. Ula, a lifelong homemaker, moved to Homosassa in 1996 from Brooklyn, New York and was a parishioner of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, where she faithfully participated in the prayer group. Mrs. Narain is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Carl Edwin Narain, Homosassa; son Philip Narain, also of Homosassa; daughter Vanessa Johnson, Plant City, FL.; grandson Devon Tikili, Maryland; granddaughters Kendall and Jordan Johnson, both of Plant City, FL; brother Michael Wong of Antigua; sister Joyce Monasingh, London, England; sister Norma Raghunandan of Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ula was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara O’Brien of Brazil. Friends will be received on Thurs., Jan. 31, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, with a rosary at 4:30 P.M., and where a Catholic Prayer Service will commence at 5:00 P.M. with Fr. Glenn Diaz of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church officiating. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens, NY under the direction of Thomas Quinn & Sons Funeral Home, Woodside, Queens, NY. www.wilderfuneral.com
