Wayne J. Armstrong, Jr., 82, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., Jan. 23, 2022 at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, FL. A native of Watertown, NY, he was born Jan. 24, 1939 to Wayne, Sr. and Josephine (Bell) Armstrong, one of six children. Wayne served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960 and was a professional steamfitter and plumber for Local #81, Oswego, NY. He moved to Homosassa 20 years ago from his native Watertown and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wayne also enjoyed playing pool and playing the guitar and was of the Roman Catholic faith. Mr. Armstrong was a member of the American Legion Post #155 of Crystal River, FL; a member of the 40 & 8, the VFW and AMVETS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Reta and Shirley; siblings William Armstrong and Brenda LeVine, and brother-in-law John Wade. Wayne is survived by his daughter Sandra Hill and her loving partner Mark Bintliff, Watertown, NY; grandson Seth Hill, New York; granddaughter Alyssa Hill, North Carolina and grandson Nathan Hill, Florida; siblings Dan Armstrong, Sr. (wife Sharon), Brownville, NY; Mary Wade, Rochester, NY and Joan Wilder (husband Ron), Watertown, NY and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited on Tues., Feb. 1, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. to Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL, where military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post #155, followed by a Celebration Of Life with Jim Dyer officiating.
