William Lee Marlin

William Lee Marlin, age 86, of Benson, North Carolina passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023. William was born on December 3, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to the late William Elmer Marlin and Vivian Lucille Meadows Marlin. William proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958 as a Radioman, attaining the rank of Third Class Petty Officer. William retired from Continental Can Company in Tampa, Florida with 27 ½ years of service. He was a former member of the Hillsboro Lions Club and was also a very active AA Member. Bill loved the outdoors and the beauty of creation. A sister Linda S. Walker of Huntington, WV preceded him in death. His daughter, Debra J. Cunningham, and husband Kevin, of Benson, NC: his two sons, William R. Marlin, of Tampa, FL, and Wayne A. Marlin, of Homosassa, FL: a brother, Frank Marlin, of Tampa, FL, survive William. His grandchildren Hailey Brooke Velez, and husband, David: Michael Marlin, Bryant William Marlin, and Corbin Wayne Marlin: great-grandchildren, Adeline R. Velez and Amelia M. Velez, also survive William. A Celebration of Life will take place in The Riverside Room at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, in Homosassa, Florida on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., followed by a reception in The Riverside Room. Military honors with the United States Navy and the American Legion Post 155 will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. www.macrini-wilderfuneral.com
