

William McKinley Wines III, 52, of Homosassa, FL, known to many as “Tater”, “Boof” or “Danny”, passed away on Sat., April 2, 2022 at his home. A native of Dunedin, FL, he was born Dec. 16, 1969 to William II and Darlene (Pearson) Wines, one of five children. William moved to Citrus County from Clearwater, FL in 1983 and was a graduate of Lecanto High School. He earned his certification through the State of Florida as a phlebotomist. Tater’s perfect day would be spending as much time as possible outdoors, as he loved hunting, fishing and four wheeling. Mr. Wines was preceded in death by his parents; William McKinley Wines II in 1991 and Darlene Wines in 2014. He is survived by his four siblings: Tami Crispell (husband Jeff), Inverness, FL; Billi-Ann Wines Collins, Homosassa, FL; Tina Petrakis, Clearwater, FL and Tony Wines (wife Debbie), Inverness, FL; five nephews and nieces: Billy Wines, Lecanto, FL; Sarah Seffern, Citrus Springs, FL; Jimmy Petrakis, Clearwater, FL; Joshua McKinley Collins, Lecanto, FL; Joshua Crispell (wife Jennifer), Chiefland, FL and Amie Martin (husband Shain), Homosassa, FL and fifteen great nephews and nieces. Friends will be received on Fri., April 8, 2022 from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL.
