Albert, “Sal,” passed away peacefully at home on October 23rd, 2020, with his family at his side. He was the eldest child of Mariano and Margaret Salvador. Raised in Aiea, he attended Radford High School and excelled in athletics. During his senior year, he was part of the 1961 team that brought the first State Football Championship to Radford High. Upon completion of National Guard training, he joined the Federal Fire Department, followed by a successful career with the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD). He progressed through the ranks and retired as a Fire Inspector. He was extremely proud of his career and his extended HFD ohana.
Family was the true love of Sal’s life. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; his daughter, Heidi; his son, Jason (daughter in law, Erin and grandson, Ryder); and sister Sylvia Kealoha.
Dad had a smile and a personality that could light up any room. He lived his life with determination, strength, courage, grace, and humility. Dad was truly our Superman.
