She leaves behind, her father Jerry Shaeffer and stepmother Joanie Shaeffer, her mother Mary Ann Koontz and stepfather Roy Koontz, and her three children-Shelby, Josh and JR.
Amber was in the Army and dedicated her life to being the very best soldier she could be. She thrived being in the military and clearly became “Army strong”. Her parents were incredibly proud of her and her accomplishments while in the military.
Amber was an avid car enthusiast. She enjoyed modifying her Subaru (aka “The Beast”) and taking it to car shows. She belonged to several car and motorcycle clubs, and even enjoyed participating in the occasional street race. Amber had a love for animals, big and small, and could never pass up an opportunity to rescue an animal in need or distress. Her other hobbies included horseback riding, water sports, hunting, fishing and camping. She embraced just about any activity that she could do outdoors.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. When you think of Amber, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest each and every day.
Due to the current state of the Covid pandemic, a private memorial service will be held in Colorado with the immediate family. A specific date has not yet been determined.
