

ANDREW LYALL TEMPLE aka A.L. TEMPLE, 86 of Kaneohe, passed away December 28, 2011 at Castle Medical Center in Kailua. Born in Livingston, Montana to Newton Temple and Flossie Lyall Temple, he was a retired Director of Education for the Far East Forces Headquarters including Hawaii, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired U.S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander who served from 1943 to 1967.
He is survived by wife, Esther; daughters, Lyallyn (Rob Graham) Temple, Andra (Gary) Smith, Tamara Temple McIlhenny, Paula (Mike Brumley) Temple; Grandchildren, Jeremy Graham, Ian Graham, Tia Merwin, Jamie Smith, Noelan Smith, Colby Lyall McIlhenny, Tamara Brumley, Lani Brumley, Kira Brumley; great-grandchildren, Samantha McIlhenny, Malachi Merwin.
Visitation 2:30-3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2011, at the Kailua United Methodist Church (1110 Kailua Road, Kailua). A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. A committal service at the niche site will be at 2:00 on Monday, January 9, 2011, at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Aloha attire is requested.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made in his name to the KUMC Foundation College Scholarship Fund, c/o 1110 Kailua Road, Kailua, Hawaii 96734.
