Born in Hamakuapoko, Maui on October 13, 1921. A graduate of Maui High School and the University of Hawaii, she spent her career as a teacher.
Survived by her son Frederick J Shine III (Patricia B. Shine) of Honolulu, HI; daughter Kathleen A Shine of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren Terri Shine of Honolulu, HI, Michael C Shine (Kari) of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa; great-grandchildren Megan Lorenzo of Honolulu, HI, Logan Shine of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa, Shijan Shine of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa, Noelle Barclay of Honolulu, HI, Jordan Barclay of Honolulu, HI; sister Phyllis Stranske of Honolulu, HI; and brother James Medeiros of Thousand Oaks,CA.
Private Services were held by the family on March 9, 2012.
