Mom was born in Waipio Valley on the Big Island on March 30, 1927 where she lived with her siblings and parents, Ting Loui and Mun Kwai. They ran a store and bakery in the Valley until moving to Honolulu in 1937. Annie attended Washington Intermediate and graduated from McKinley High School in 1945.
She married dad, Yuen Sek “Wally” Chun, on June 14, 1947. Children, Douglas and Beverly Ann, were born before moving into their new house in Kaneohe town in 1952. Then came Darrell, Debralee and Susan.
Annie was a loving mother and fabulous homemaker until working as a bookkeeper at the Waipahu Napa Auto Parts Distribution Center in the 70’s. Mom retired so that she and dad could home care Douglas.
Mom sewed clothes for us, even dresses for Barbie dolls! Annie was an opera fan, enjoyed craft making, orchid growing and cultivating exotic plants. She easily cooked for our family parties where a hundred aunties, uncles and cousins attended.
Grandchildren include Wesley, Kawika, Selina, Chris, Curt, Lahela and Luka. Great grandchildren are Kiara, Kylan, Kaleo, Hitomi, Arya and Aiden.
Annie passed while at Manoa Cottage Kaimuki. We love and miss her.
