 I knew Charles at HJA in Jr High, couldn’t find a photo of him and me but here’s one from the yearbook of me and his good friend Steen in chess class where Charles also played.  He was one of the good ones.  Much too young.

Chuck and I along with Steen Wittmaack were like the 3 Musketeers growing up. I knew Chuck from about 1969 when our fathers were business partners. Steen came into the picture around 1972. We did everything together, we were inseparable. We spear fished, SCUBA dived, hiked, Boy Scouts, surfed, got it fights with the local punks, went cruising, played sand lot baseball and touch football, all the things young boys would do together. The 3 of us spent our teen years together and stayed in touch all these years. Until Chuck began to have some serious health issues and eventually we lost touch over a year ago. There are so many great memories I have of the 3 of us just having fun together, it's hard to chose which would be the favorite.
Chuck, you are so missed my friend, so very missed. I'm so very sorry you are gone. I will miss our phone calls. Our last contact was a mere 8 days before his passing. I could hear a loneliness in his voice.

Chuck and I grew up together in Hawaii from when we were both very young. We had a lot of great times and memories together. We lost touch about a year ago and I just happened to do a search and I find this. I am shocked and heartbroken.

As Chuck wishes were fulfilled- His beloved ashes were scattered at sea in Oahu. He was honored with love and a heartfelt  memorial with his family in attendance. A beautiful and peaceful release following many plumeria blossoms. So bitter sweet. Rest in God’s arms no more pain or hurt. Glory be to God!  We will reunite once again.

I’m still in shock that you’re gone! First my Tessa and now u Chuck. You were always a friend to me even though you were my step dad! I’ll cherish our friendship and the times we shared together!  This is never goodbye  but a mere c-ya later! Until we meet again! Thank you for always loving my momma! 💔
