On March 15, 2020, at the age of 93 Charlotte returned to her heavenly home. Daughter to Siu Lum King and Eliza Lapaku Kaui, she was 1 of 11 children. She is survived by sisters Margaret Hiram (age 97) and Nancy Nicely (age 91). After 25 years of service as a sales clerk for the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange, she retired and continued to remain industrious and hardworking throughout her life. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, lauhala weaving, lei making, and gardening. Charlotte was a faithful member of The
Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the Lanakila Ward for most of her life. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived her life, always giving service and helping all those around her. Her favorite outing was attending the Laie Hawaii Temple as often as possible.
Charlotte lived a long and meaningful life and was the heart of our family.
Her children: Marlene (Diddles), Charlene (Tweetie), Albert Jr. (Jumbo), and Ginger, 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren will truly miss her presence in our lives.
To our Ma, Grams, Toots, and Great-Great Grandma… You are the greatest woman we have ever known. You taught us to be strong, hardworking, and respectful. You showed us how to serve and love unconditionally. You had to go, but we know that families can be together forever through Heavenly Father’s plan for us. With all our love, A hui hou.
A private service will be held with her family on Thursday April 2,
2020 at Hawaii Memorial Cemetery.
