I first met Christine about 5 years ago, while I working on some projects for her neighbor. Christine became a friend, and soon like a sister to me. We could talk and agree and disagree and still be friends. I really enjoyed working with and for her, as she set about clearing her house and property of everything she didn’t need for her day to day life. There was always something to lift or carry or discard, or repair; And then she and Diz and I would go over to Jan’s and we’d all eat lunch together. There was always good conversation and laughter.
I will miss Christine’s dry wit, her irascible nature, her refusal to put up with bs, and her kindness. I look forward to seeing her again in the next dimension.

Christine Gasper

A kind hearted curmudgeon, whose life in recent years centered on her beloved Diz, whom she rescued from the pound. She often commented that Diz was lucky she’d saved her, but that she was even luckier to have Diz.
Christine worked hard to clear the banana “plantation” her mother had planted. I often wouldn’t see Christine for days, as she worked daily, dawn till dusk, putting her house in order: packing books, clothes and shoes, household items, vases and figurines into boxes and bags destined for the women’s center and the library to be enjoyed by others.
Christine loved to bring her newspaper to our patio in the mornings, snag a drink from the fridge and sit and read.
We spent many hours on that patio discussing politics, sure we could set the world to rights!
We shared many relaxing evening meals, and enjoyed many hours with friends enjoying great food and good conversations and lots of laughter. Her sister Margaret was able to join in several times.

I’m going to miss Christine dropping by to chat, checking up on each of our latest “projects”, discussing current events and political views, sharing medical situations, and just touching base.
Goodbye Christine.
May you journey safe.
