

Darlene Inn Chung Dung Leong, of Aiea, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024. Born in Tacoma, Washington, Darlene graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Zoology. After working as a computer programmer in the Department of Astronomy at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics at UH Manoa, she began a career in real estate at Grubb & Ellis. She eventually moved to Herbert K. Horita Realty, where she worked for several decades. Darlene was very passionate about her work as a realtor, and her dedication to connecting each of her clients with the right home resulted in numerous awards and happy customers.
She also enjoyed traveling, watching sports (especially UH Rainbow Wahine Volleyball games), and spending time with her family and friends.
Darlene was married to the late Franklin K.S. Leong. She was also predeceased by her sister Dorothy Inn Yung Roll and brother William Man Hin Dung. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Nao), son Michael (Cheryl), four grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Borthwick Mortuary, Makai Chapel; 11:00 visitation, 12:00 service, and 3:00 burial at Hawaii Memorial Park Cemetery.
