FLORENCE LOWE STEVENS, age 87, of Honolulu, passed away June 3, 2011. Born February 10, 1924 in Topeka, Kansas, she was a retired accounting clerk for the Federal Government. She was a true “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II when she worked in the Army Depot in Kansas building aircraft engines. In 1945, she married Oman E. Stevens. Florence is survived by her daughter, Anne V. Stevens of Honolulu, Hawaii and a brother, Mark Lowe of Topeka, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at The Cathedral of St. Andrew, 229 Queen Emma Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, followed by a gathering, spreading of Florence's ashes and a reception at the Hawaii Yacht Club, 1739 Ala Moana Blvd # C, Honolulu, HI 96815.
