Uncle I remember you as the most happiest of all of my Uncles and Aunties. So much love, always kind and forgiving and laughing.  I'm not sure how you put up with all the rest da ohana. But I do know you left so young.

Our family Aumakua ~the white owl~ visits me every time one of us passes away, and that same night also their spirit.
Grandma, Gary, Duchess, ever since I was a kid. (and probly the otha dead fam too but cannot recognize cuz too many filipinos yeah, aya.)
..anyways.
Uncle Gary came visit in my dream the night he passed.
He wanted to spend time with us just as though it was a casual day. But everyone was too busy -and he was bummed out when I realized it was a dream.
He wanted us to spend time as family.

Those emotions, I hold onto for him.
I don't have to, but I don't want him to.
It was not his responsibility to have to hold in the first place. 
It was, and is ~ ours.
  O~HANA.
Ohana is sacred when whole and connected, working together.
No excuses or reasonings can hold ground against that.
The most important work you could ever do is the work to bring Ohana together. So long as Ohana is not together as one - your work will never yield enough fruit, because the true payment you seek - is connection to family.
No amount of wealth can fool you from your heart forever.

If you pass before me, you will visit me too
and I will pretend for you that it's just another day
and me grandma grandpa & Gary & Duch (& all da other ancestor filipinos, wot, I forget k too many names) will spend time with you.

You left so sudden Gary, and you were like my  brother away from home, but our heavenly father took you home with him and reassured us that you would be OK.  I'll miss seeing you @ Fran/Uncle Nick's and coming thru the kitchen door after taking Benzie for her walk....Me Kealoha Pumehana

We will surely miss Gary.  Always had a smile on his face and just took to Jolee as his TV cuddle buddie.  Glad that he was able to visit Hawaii after his rehab.

You left us too soon.  I did not get to tell you how very proud I am to be your sister and of how you change your life around... Thank you and you know now how much Nick and I and Benzie too miss you..
