

On March 7, 1944, George Hubbard "Bucky" Jones, Jr. was born to George H. Jones and Sarah H. (Fernandez) Jones. He was the oldest of four children and spent a great deal of his childhood growing up in kula, Maui. He 'ohana eventually moved to Honolulu where he spent formative years in Nanakuli as well as Kane'ohe. He was a proud Crusader of Saint Louis' Class of 1963 and served as Cadet Colonel in ROTC. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served from 1963-1967 as Specialist, Strategic Air Command. On August 12, 1967, he married the love of his life, Harriet Pualani (Lum) at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Honolulu. He went on to a long career in Finance/Banking as well as Real Estate Development. Towards the end of his career, he devoted his time to missions as well as developing programs to service our Native Hawaiian communities. On February 3, 2021, Bucky went home peacefully, spending his last days surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Pua; two brothers, Melville and Dayton Jones; three children, Pomai, Mehana (Tim O'Hara) and Kulani (Melissa Jones); and his four grandchildren, Kamalu, Anuhea, Kala'e, and Keahounui. A small, private service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific at Punchbowl. All are invited to participate in a Celebration of Life Drive-Thru to be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Kane'ohe at 45-728 Wainana St. from 12 pm-4 pm.
