He was born on April 5, 1954, in the Territory of Hawai‘i. He attended Cathedral School, St. Louis School, and graduated from Kapi‘olani Community College with honors. He was an original member and played the upright bass for Kuila I Ka Nu‘u, a Hawaiian musical group, and played in many rock groups in the 80s. He surfed and enjoyed the beach, and was a beach boy with Clyde Aikau in Waikīkī. He liked cycling and working out at the gym. He worked in the film industry for many years and was a member of IATSE Local 665.
He is survived by sisters Colette Stanczyk, Karen Costa, and Coline Ferranti, and brothers Rodney Aiu and Scott Aiu. Predeceased by father Boniface K. Aiu, Sr., mother Maiki Aiu, and brother Boniface K. Aiu, Jr.
Services on Monday, December 22, 2025, 11:00am to 1:00pm, at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu. Aloha attire. Refreshments to follow.
