Helen Alvarez Mendez, 91, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on July 1st, 2015 at her residence in Honolulu. Helen was born in Lahaina, Maui and was a Foster Mother for the Child Care Services and a Retired Forelady for Young Laundry. She is survived by her son, Raymond Mendez Jr.; daughter, Mildred Mendez Castillo; 4 granddaughters; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
Services will be held July 31st and August 1st. Visitation on July 31st will be at 5:30pm at Borthwick Mortuary Mauka Chapel located at 1330 Maunakea Street in Honolulu and service will follow at 6:30pm. On August 1st, visitation will begin at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Mount located at 1614 Monte Street in Honolulu, service will be at 11:00am with burial to follow at 2:15pm at Diamond Head Cemetery located at 529 18th Avenue in Honolulu.
Casual attire suggested.
