Helene Moana Smith

HELENE MOANA SMITH, was born on Oahu, January 24, 1951, and passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital. She is survived by son, Moe "Hoku", sisters Leilani Leona, Ululani (Gabriel) and Stephanie (Charlie) and brother Melvin(Peaches). She is preceded in death by her father, William, her mother, Vivian; her brother Kenneth and her sister Jacqueline. She is a grandmother, to Kylie and Christian, a loving aunty to many nieces and nephews. Helene spent 40 years in the air conditioning electrical parts field. She worked for Johnson Controls for over 20 years, and completed her career as an Office Manager with Automatic Controls Engineering.

Helene's services will be held on Friday, March 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel with lunch to follow. Inurnment Saturday March 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Diamond Head Cemetery. The family kindly requests that should anyone want to send flowers, leis only please. Helene's life will be celebrated "simply and purely' Hawaiian ...as it was her request.
