James “Jim” Kellogg, of Honolulu, Hawaii, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 8, 1948, in Long Beach, California, he came to Hawaii in 1973 and fell in love with the islands and its wide diversity of cultures. Jim worked for the Teamsters, Local 996, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Kaiser and The Queen’s Medical Center. He was a distinguished Vietnam War Veteran. He was also the proud founder and president of the Hawaii Hospital and Health Care Workers Union.
He is survived by his siblings: Edward Kellogg and Anne Marie Lair.
Jim’s Celebration of Life will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, at 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817, on October 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
