Jim Chin Lum

Born on September 17, 1933, in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, Mr. Lum was a man of wisdom, integrity, and compassion. He graduated from Guangdong University of Finance and devoted many years of his life to financial administration and public service in Hainan. Later, he settled in Hawai‘i, where he became a respected member of the Chinese community and a devoted Buddhist practitioner.

In 1980, Mr. Lum became one of the founders of Hop Hing Market in Honolulu. Through hard work, perseverance, and dedication, he helped build a trusted business that served the local community for many years. He was admired not only for his business vision, but also for his generosity, humility, and strong sense of responsibility toward family and community.

Throughout his life, Mr. Lum generously supported Buddhist temples and charitable causes. He formerly served as Chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association Hawaii Hsu Yun Temple and was widely respected for his kindness and lifelong commitment to helping others.

He is survived by his loving family, relatives, and dear friends, who will forever cherish his teachings, love, and legacy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary, followed by burial services at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family sincerely thanks all relatives and friends for their prayers, condolences, and support during this difficult time.

各位親朋好友，大家好：

今天，我們懷著平和而安靜的心情，齊聚於此，共同追思我敬愛的父親——佛弟子淨泉，林公泉老先生。

家父祖籍廣東省中山縣板橋新村，出生於1933年9月17日。

祖輩青年時期己展現過人的膽識與遠見，遠赴英國及澳洲經商創業。家族始終秉持「勤儉持家、福澤子孫」的信念，將海外奮鬥的成果帶回故鄉，買田買地買房屋，為後輩奠定世代安居樂業的穩固基業。

父親從小聰明靈利，成績優秀. 他畢業於廣東財經大學。大學畢業後，他心懷抱負與熱情投身國家建設. 被委派到海南島工作，擔任財政科科長長達十年之久。憑着專業的財經知識、廉潔正直的人品，以及卓越的行政能力，深受同事與上級的肯定。

1958年，家父與母親李玉嬋結為連理。建立溫暖和睦的家庭。他們攜手走過六十八載幸福婚姻，共同養育四名子女. 分別是漢、蘊、蔚 和 堅. 我是二女藴.

1962年，父親帶著母親與大哥回到家鄉中山石岐發展。其後，於1979年，為了家族的未來與子女教育，毅然決定移民美國夏威夷，開啟人生另一段新旅程。

抵達夏威夷後，父親憑藉華人堅毅勤奮的精神，於1980年與包弟林桂然先生及朋友共同在唐人街創辦「合興孖結（Hop Hing Market）」其家鄉風味深受大眾喜愛。至1990年，父親逐漸淡出餐飲行業，轉向與女兒、女婿共同投資地產，他以敏銳眼光與穩健作風，繼續為家族添磚加瓦。

退休之後，父親將人生重心轉向佛法修行與社會公益。他皈依三寶，成為虔誠佛弟子，並以他的慈悲心與領導才能，歷任多項社團與佛教團體重要職務，包括：

父親一生熱心僑務，關懷社群，待人厚道，處世正直。他的慈悲與智慧，不僅深受僑界敬重，也為後輩樹立了修身立德、利益眾生的典範。

今天，父親雖然已經離開我們，但他留下的精神、教誨與慈愛，將永遠長存於家人與親友心中。

最後，我謹代表全體家屬，衷心感謝各位親朋好友，在百忙之中前來送別，陪伴家父走完人生最後一程。亦感謝各位法師為先父慈悲頌經，功德無量，家屬銘感於心。

願父親蒙佛接引，往生西方極樂淨土，離苦得樂，安然自在。

亦願父親一生的慈悲與厚愛，化作無盡光明與祝福；祈求三寶加持，國泰民安、風調雨順，各位身體健康, 永享太平.
