John is survived by son, Paul K. Yanagihara; daughters, Sandra A. M. Agas, Carol M. Shimizu, Cyd T. Edwards and Loreen S. Oamilda; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Harold Yanagihara.
Funeral services will be at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817 on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744 at 3:00 p.m.
