Joseph Char, 79, of Kaneohe, passed away on March 1, 2014, at Aloha Nursing and Rehab. He was born in North Kona. He served in the United States Air Force and was a courier for Loomis Armored Car Service. He is survived by wife, Harriet Keikilani Char; daughter, Ginger Lei Mitte and Leigh Ilima Char; sons, Joseph Auhana Char and Corey Keolalani Char; sisters, Hannah K. Kamoe and Virgie Kahananui; Grandchildren, Jessica Char, Eddie Char, Steven Char, Ileiana Mitte, Anuhea Char, and Hali'a Char.
Funeral service will be held on March 21, 2014 at Borthwick Mortuary - Maunakea Chapel. Visitation will be at 9:30am and service will begin at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at 2pm.
